Blog woes

I am having trouble with the RSS feed on my blog, and am temporarily redirecting the feed back here to my old blog.  There’s nothing really to see here, my blog really is at:

And I really have been updating it there, so please go check it out, and I promise to switch my feed back to that location ASAP.

For the millionth time my memory card and my camera are in two separate locations.  And it has just dawned on me that the pictures that I THOUGHT I was taking earlier actually went off to la-la land because the memory card probably wasn’t in the camera at that point either.  Duh.

I’m going to blame it on my newest head injury.  NEver mind the fact that the head injury was this evening adn all of the camera nonsense occurred earlier in the day.

I opened the microwave door, bent down to get out a potholder and then stood back up — in the meantime the microwave door and actually swung back partway and naturally my head connected with it.  Almost instantly I could feel the muscles in my neck seize up, so I just stood there and cried for a minute.  I might have said some bad words out loud, first.

Which is all by way of explaining why I’m going to just go crawl in bed and not come out again until April.  Because it is FREAKING cold here in Iowa, and in bed I don’t think I can hurt myself.

Unless I fall out.

p.s. My Mom.  She is dredging up even MORE pictures from the past.  One of her holding me when I was about a year old, and then one of Mark and me the first Christmas we knew each other.  Look at the glasses!  What we were thinking!

Letter report

I’m an overchiever.  Not one, but TWO!  I found some cute Christmas Mary Engelbreit stationery and got inspired…took me all of about 5 minutes for 2 quick notes that made me feel good to write, and I hope will make the recipients feel good, too.

I’ve had that stationery for several (many?) years.  I’m not sure what I thought I was saving it for.

Anybody else write a letter today?

A million and one things that I *could* talk about, and I just can’t seem to pick one to settle on.

Wow.  That’s like the story of my life in a nutshell.

I need to go contemplate that.

Back later.

Perky Blog Post #1

And thus concludes all chipper and perky blog posts.

Someone made this comment on my prior post about the white stuff in the sky.

I am bound and determined to prove this someone wrong by posting as many chipper and perky blog posts as possible.

So how is this for chipper?  Our football team just won another game and are headed to the Semi-Finals!!!  We chose not to go watch because of the unmentionable weather, and instead I enjoyed a nice evening at the movie watching Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.  The boys stayed home and watched Indiana Jones (the newest one).

We’re really hopeful that tomorrow is going to be a great day at our little show in Traer (anyone in the area?  you should come, there’s some neat stuff on display!), and as soon as I figure out what I did with my camera, I’ll post some pictures!

Have a Fabulous Saturday!

A more auspicious start

1.  I put on a belt.

2.  I fixed my hair (and for bonus points, put on make-up).

3.  I voted (ballot number 238).

4.  My phone only rang one more time with a ringtone message.

5.  Our high school football team won it’s playoff game last night, 20-0.  Their record is 11-0, and they will hopefully continue to win their way to the state championship in a few weeks.

6.  I got a pretty good chuckle out of my brother’s comment on yesterday’s post.  Actually he was responding to Susan’s comment, and I just hope that Susan doesn’t get too mad at my brother.

With any luck I’m going to have a very productive day, I’m going to eat a great Chicken and Biscuit Dinner (an election day tradition put on by one of hte local churches), and I’m going to enjoy watching how today’s events turn out.  Even though I’ve complained about how tired I am of this election, I do feel excitement about how important and historic this election is for our country.

Have a great Tuesday.

p.s.  Have you voted yet?
